We’re in leafy Mt Airy Village, across from Weavers Way (food) Co-op, Big Blue Marble Bookstore, Wild Hand, the Nesting House, Village Acupuncture Project and the High Point Café. The neighborhood has been studied by Harvard, the café was featured in Oprah’s magazine, and the community highlighted by Money Magazine which says it is the “best neighborhood” in Philly. The city’s first bird sanctuary is a few blocks away. Parking is free. That is, come see us and stay awhile.
* We live and work in this building so it's usually easy for us to say "yes".
Come Spring, we'll re-open our whimsical blooming Typewriter Garden to showcase typewriters and lead small Touch Typing classes.
Many thanks to Lindsay Weightman for conceiving of this space as such a bountiful place and making it happen. And to Ashley Gehman, industrial designer and stylist, for helping to re-deploy the garden for community use last year. Her edgey, delightful elements provoke endless smiles. John Bertolino, Handyman Supremo, manifested so many of our ideas and contributed his own as well. We also celebrate Karin Pearsall our talented graphic and signage designer.
This year, we are abiding by all hygiene guidelines and visits are by appointment. Thank you for visiting!
Visit the DOLLAR BOOKSTORE on the sidewalk outside our building on days when the weather is nice. Leave your dollar-per-book in the mail slot. In Ye We Trust.
